These aren't the golden times for the best graphics card deals, I'm afraid. As this generation winds down and the world is itching for the next generation of Nvidia and AMD GPUs, pricing isn't trending down in the way you might have hoped. The latest and greatest GPUs are still prohibitively expensive for the most part, even when they're about to be replaced by better things.

The new generation of graphics cards has begun rolling out, starting with the Intel Arc B580 and swiftly followed by Nvidia's RTX 50 series, led by the RTX 5090 and the RTX 5080. AMD's RX 9070 series will appear in March, starting with the RX 9070 XT. You might have noticed that AMD isn't opting for an uber-high-end graphics card in its 9070 series, instead leaving Nvidia to dominate with its latest AI-supercharged cards.

But what about deals on the previous generation? Some of those new cards make it tough to recommend many of the existing generations, even at pretty decent discounts. The RTX 5070 is reportedly claiming RTX 4090 performance, though admittedly with some help from DLSS. Still, you might feel like a goose among swans if you buy a brand new RTX 40-series just before the RTX 50-series arrives.

Nevertheless, the budget market isn't going to budge anytime soon. And if you need a graphics card immediately, what can you do but hope for a decent deal on one? We've worked the angles and below are the best prices on every current graphics card we think you ought to consider upgrading your gaming PC with.

Performance comparison

We've benchmarked all the latest GPUs of this generation, and have tracked their performance against the previous generation in terms of 3DMark Time Spy Extreme scores. Where we don't have the referential numbers for an older card we have used the average index score from the UL database. These figures track alongside an aggregated 1440p frame rate score from across our suite of benchmarks.

Intel's Arc cards are not noted here, as they generally score uncharacteristically highly in 3DMark, and that gives a false sense of performance without other frame rate figures to delve into. Check out our Arc A770 review and Arc A750 review for more.

MSRP list

Here's a list of the manufacturer set retail prices (MSRP), or recommended retail price (RRP), for most the latest graphics cards. For the most part, these are the set prices for the stock or reference versions of these cards, if applicable, and not representative of overclocked or third-party graphics cards, which may well be priced higher.

FAQ

What does 'price watch' mean?

We've added a new "price watch" qualifier to all our individual deals, making it easy to see whether a price has gone up 🔼 or down 🔽 since we last checked it out. It's important to note that any deal in this guide (even if it's slightly risen in price) is still one of our top picks, as we only show you deals that are actually worth buying.
