It is a fighting video game which is played in 2.5D environment. In this battles took place in a closed arenas. These arenas are different in size and also in width. Fighting Ex Layer many gameplay features included from the earlier Arika’s fighting games. Chain combos, auto combo system and optional progressive mode newly added in this game. The progressive mode make simple the command inputs. Fighting Ex Layer also introduced Gougi Boost which awards player the additional bonus and rewards during the match. Player can customize these boosts by selecting the different Gougi decks at the start.
